Shannon and Cindy, I don't know if you have other older children as well, but we have found that each stage gets better, at least as far as 9, which is what our son will be in two weeks [rachel hyperventilates]. (his sister is five). Different, but better. And parents have the bonus of still having all the memories of the earlier years. I do suggest if you're not already doing it -- keep as complete a journal of the "cutenesses" as you can, because it's alarming how much gets forgotten as they grow.

Postscript: Today we went for another walk, and she asked, "When will we be home? I'm very, very, very busy." (This is code for "tired.") Then she said, "My feet are getting sweating."

Amy, my dh and I have always said, "What will we do when we don't have a 3yo anymore. Sadly, that day is almost here. Alex will be 4 on the 14.

I like three year olds, too. The best so far, although since my oldest is just three, that might change. Isn't it just amazing how much fun they can be?
And I'm so excited that y'all are headed back this way! It seems like everybody lives in California (or Alaska!) and I'm lonely over here on the east coast:)

Come on back to the east coast!!

I just love walks with the little ones. My favorite comment from my just turned 5 year old when we walked to a nearby ice cream store, along a busy road: "Hey Mom we made it! And we didn't even get killed!"

BTW, we're still looking forward to the HSC weekend! Can't wait to meet ya...

My kids talk about the "long-cut," too. Little ones add to much color to the world.
