Cheri, Thanks for asking. But no, I’m not better. I just picked up my laptop on the couch instead of only moaning and sleeping on the couch. Now I do three things.

Heather, You know, I don’t know why I said that I cut apples, because my three older ones all eat several whole apples a day. I use a apple-peeler-corer-slicer thing for the baby. I guess you could just say it was literary license. Except that it wasn’t very literary…

Don’t you just hate cutting apples? I love my youngest - she just picks up a piece of fruit and eats it whole! I’ll turn around and she’s down to the stem.

My eldest, however… he’s pickly like me. I love fruit, but am too lazy to cut it up. But, the mother in me will force myself to do it - because fruit is spectacularly good for you… and because I can’t resist when he asks me for peeled apple slices with peanut-butter on the side for dipping.

We mom’s may be underpaid, but we are overprivileged.

Amen sister! I so hear you (actually, I hear God) on this lesson in humility in servanthood, cutting apples, wiping up thrown pureed peas and washing endless loads of laundry. I’m learning that regardless of my “ministry”, there is no greater place to serve than at the place that brings God a smile and awe-deserving glory.
