Set your clocks!

Don’t forget to “fall back” tonight. Ever since I became a mother, I no longer look forward to the time change. It takes time to adjust to a new schedule. Additionally, while everyone is busy getting their extra hour of sleep, it just means for me that I have to get up at 6:00 a.m. now instead of 7:00 a.m. Babies don’t know about these things…
Have a blessed Lord’s Day.

Do I qualify for a whine award now?

You could always try moving to Arizona — we don’t do daylight savings.

Yep, I didn’t get that extra hour, either! The baby and children awoke before 7. AND I stayed up later than usual thinking I had a little more time! Well, we were on time for church this morning, yea! I don’t think I’m going to like the time change…until we get used to it, that is.

I live within walking distance of the Indiana-Ohio state line. Up until today, that line separates two time zones during the summer months only. That means that for six months I have two time zones to worry about and during the other six months (after I have gotten used to the time difference) I have to remember that there is no time difference.
Next spring, most of Indiana will go along with DST so I won’t have to worry about a time zone difference anymore!

I know what you mean. Instead of awaking at 7am, the kids were up and playing at 6. I enjoyed my “extra hour” last night, but I paid the price with an hour less sleep.

I was worried about the baby waking up early, but he actually slept for longer ! (unless he did wake up but I was too tired to hear). But the time difference means it is now dark by 5pm…..and soon it will be 4……and winter will definatelybe on the way.

When the kids were little, I found that it was actually easier to lose an hour than to gain one, because neither has any effect on the number of hours they sleep–only on the number of hours we are awake. However, now that the youngest is ten, “falling back” isn’t a problem. We all loved the extra sleep. Life is so seasonal. I like the season of kids who sleep through the night, tie their own shoes, and throw up in the toilet when they are sick. I thought I would miss the funny things they said when they were little, but I find it is even more fun to laugh with them than at them. To bad college is breathing down our necks–I could go on like this for a lot longer than we have.
