"...some of the ways He sends us faith for the road ahead"

That's beautiful, Amy, and so very true. Thank you for sharing your birth story... I can so relate to the delayed feelings of joy; thankfully they do come! Praying for you during these first few weeks of life with the newborn... Congratulations on your newest blessing!

Thanks for sharing that, Amy.

You know what else I love besides hearing children sing without reserve? When they are going about their day and out of the blue they are quoting catechism or a passage of scripture we just memorized. Our four year old son has been doing that lately. Today I corrected him once as he was saying Ephesians chapter 2 verses 1-6 (we are still working on vs 7-10) and he looked up at me with a smile and continued on :-) Now that is meditating upon scripture!

May each of our children grow in the knowledge and grace of our precious Saviour!

Hey, looky there - another emily! I changed my name to clarify things a bit :)

Your sons sound absolutely precious! Glad you're recovering well from such a rough time.

Blessings,

Amy, your post reminds me of my six-year-old daughter, Anna-Rose, who just loves Jesus to pieces, and shares Him with strangers wherever we go by singing them hymns. "Do you know this song?...Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so...." Like your son, she does sing well, only she tends to perfect the tune while butchering the lyrics. She's become quite gifted at using her own method of artistic license to add and delete in order to inject the gospel message into every tune. A musical evangelist! What a sweet sound it must be to the Lord's ears hearing these earnest young voices rising up to His throne.....even when they come from the depths of WalMart. P.S. Sounds like you and Charles are bonding madly. :) Aaah, the delicate peachy fuzz of a baby's head against my lips. Delicious! You are blessed indeed.

I love that you can tell just by walking in certain homes that, "there's a newborn baby here." Don't they just have the best smell? Someone should bottle it!!

I heartily agree with you about singing praises with our children. It makes my heart swell with thankfulness to our Lord. Just this past Lord's Day my three year old, Kirk, was belting out, "Your blood has washed away my sins, Jesus 'fank' you..." How precious!!
