FPEA

I’m excited about meeting a few new people at the FPEA homeschool convention this weekend. There are several ways to find me if you’re looking among the 12,000 people there. The first is to imagine what the other side of my face looks like, and do a match that way. The second is to look for the smiliest baby there, and I’ll be the one holding him. (The rest of my entourage went home.) The third way is to hit The Old Schoolhouse table at 11:30 Saturday morning for the blogger’s brunch meet-up. The final way is to look for my nametag. It’ll say, “Amy Scott.” Hope to see you then.

Really? 12,000? Is that an exageration, Amy?
I love the smiliest baby comment. I felt the same about my little Mr. Clean when he was tiny.

It was fun meeting you at lunch today! And you do have the “smiliest” baby, what a cutie!

How funny…I DID see you at the FPEA convention today, even before reading your post! I was (most of the time) sitting in the back for the second half of Mr. Klicka’s “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” talk and I recognized your shirt and face from the recent family picture and wondered if it was you since I knew you lived in FL. Then…after the talk, when I passed you as I went down to the front to help the family I work for (I’m currently a mother’s helper), I saw your name-tag and my suspicions were confirmed! Then I saw you again in the Exhibit Hall and you drove by while we were going out to the van…it was weird, almost like I saw a celebrity or something! I was going to tell you how much I enjoy your blog, but it never worked out since you were talking to someone else or something like that…but I really do enjoy your blog…and hope you enjoyed the convention! Have a glorious day!

Lisa, Yes, it was good to meet!
Jessica, Why didn’t you say, “Hello!”?!?!?!?!??! I would’ve loved to hug your neck. Yes, I wore “the shirt” for those needing the extra identity clue.
And, nope Spiritbee, 12,000 isn’t an exaggeration. That was the count they gave on attendance. FPEA is the biggest, best convention in the nation. With that in mind, a hotel with more than 2 elevators would’ve been helpful for the stroller crowd!
I’ve seen on a few blogs that there in consensus about the rightness of me calling my baby the “smiliest.” I could’ve said that he’s the cutest too, but that would’ve been biased.

Sorry…looking back now, I wish I would’ve said “Hello”, but I’m quite shy at times and was afraid of intruding…though it would’ve been neat to actually meet you!
And I know what you mean about the elevators! And you could only really fit one stroller in at a time…
Though I only was able to see him a couple times…your baby IS adorable! So cute!

I’m so glad to have met you this weekend … not sure what TOS’s plans are for next year, but we’ll have another brunch if we come back! Your baby was adorable, too

I think I was jealous of all these people getting to meet you because I dreamed I met you two nights ago.
It was at the FPEA convention, except your son and my son were playing in a homeschool soccer game which was after the FPEA convention. Don’t ask me where that came from — I don’t even have a son, just a baby girl, and I don’t think there’s any sort of soccer game after FPEA.
I saw you from far off and knew it was you. You were surrounded by people (I’m not surprised!). But I was too embarrassed to say anything. Then, you came over to me and hollered “Crystal Paine!” and gave me a big hug. I was shocked and couldn’t believe you, the celebrity blogger, recognized little me.
By the way, you had tight curly hair and some sort of 80’s hairdo in my dream — don’t ask me where that came from, either!
It was so funny when I woke up and realized what I had just dreamed. I’ve never dreamed about someone I only know through blogland. Come to think of it, I’ve never dreamed about anything to do with blogging before.

Hi Amy!
Did you see the Mally Family (3 harps–Bright Lights) at Gaylord? They stayed at our place as well while we were away. We got to visit them last night at Camp Horizon in Leesburg. Their ministry is inspiring! Looking forward to hearing posts about the convention. We hope to go next year.

Yes, it was so nice to meet you all. We’ll have to Crystal a plane ticket next time; she’s out-of-control.
Jesse, I did not meet the Mally family. We’ll have to all get together next year. (With Crystal…)
