I have never tried the green onions instead in salsa. is the taste any different?

Yes, you get the onion flavor without the oniony crunchy "bite." Green onions don't give you onion breath either. That's enough, isn't it?! :)

I love your website, Amy. Thank you for writing so honestly and with such great wit. We love it here, even Down Under!

Not sure why the men stand around the grill, but I read a very funny take on men doing the grill in order to give the woman a 'night off' from cooking. Thought you might find it amusing too.

Go to

Find the 'Friday Funnies' category in the sidebar, then go to the entry from May 19, 2006. Both my husband and I found this to be very funny, and very true!

God's richest blessings to you and your precious family.

Hi Amy-
Our local newspaper had an article about Dealing with the perils of summer vegetable gardening.

an avid vegetable grower, is trying out a tomato named "444," an up-and-coming hybrid (small but tasty) that continues to produce well even in high temperatures.

Here is a link to the article (please note that you have ti sign up to have access to this newspaper online, if you do not wish to do that, I can email you the article):

Oh, on the men and grill question, I take the 5th!!!:redface_wp:

Bill,

I know what you mean, I can't stand that Pace Picante stuff. You can find fresh salsa in the produce section near the fresh herbs or near the refrigerated veggie slices, or the precut fruit that is in containers. It is sometimes referred to as Pico de Gallo. It has chopped tomatoes, white onions and cilantro with spices. Pretty good stuff. Comes in real handy for me when I want to make a really really fast dinner like chicken quesidillas using leftonver chicken. I grab a container of the fresh salsa and dinner is ready in literally minutes.

Why do men hang around the bbq? probably because we hope to learn what we are doing wrong around our own, at least that is waht I do.

I have never tried the green onions instead in salsa. is the taste any different? I love the cilantro and thing that without it a salsa just is not a salsa but my wife is not a fan of the taste.

One more thing. The salsa that we buy in stores is nothing like this recipe and I am wondering why you can never find this kind of salsa in the stores instead of the Pace picante sauce type.

Hey, thanks for the recipe--I just posted one too! Here in Chicagoland, we're just putting out our tomatoes, but I'll remember this when I'm rolling in them. We love fresh salsa. I'll definitely try the green onions--I think my family will like that.

Great to see the photo of YOU (at the convention) on your blog!
