I received a new book in the mail yesterday, More Hymns Reharmonized - Creative Chords for the Church Accompanist. Excited to try new chord progressions, I sat down at the piano and lost track of time. This is what I found when I returned to the family room:

I think this could be the start of a new business– playing at homes where babies live. What do you think? I think I’ll practice more often.

I just love these moments…I’ve had them fall asleep in the high chair and the jump-up before, too! I can’t wait to cuddle my new one in about 13 weeks :).

This is an absolutely priceless photo, Amy.
I distinctly remember one time when I was babysitting as a teenager (I was a good babysitter, and did it for about ten years); the older girl was in bed, but I couldn’t get her little sister to quiet down (this family later had a boy, too, and I sat ‘em all). The baby was lying on her back on a pillow on the livingroom floor, wailing like a banshee. I went into the kitchen for a split second–and suddenly, there was silence. The baby had stopped in mid-wail. Terrified, I rushed back into the livingroom, to observe that the child was still breathing. I rang my mother, still freaked. My mother assured me that, yes, sometimes they just give up, mid-sentence, so to speak, and fall asleep.
I’ll always remember that. I laugh now–but boy, at the time, did it seem weird!

You’re Hired! Be at my home everyday at 12:30 and then again at 8pm. =)

I lose track of time too when I play. Unfortunately, my children have discovered that they can get away with murder while I’m at the piano, lol! I’ve had to save my playing for when they’re all in bed. Have you tried giving any of your children piano lessons? I used to teach a little before the babies arrived and am considering making piano lessons part of my oldest child’s curriculum this fall.

That photo was great! All three of my boys ran to the computer to see what I was “awing” after, and they all thought your baby was really cute, and said they can’t wait until my baby comes out of my belly (two more months!)

I love the picture! But I’m equally interested in the book. I’m over to fetchbook.info as soon as I’m done commenting!

That’s really cute Amy. I wish mine did that when I played the clarinet in front of them. The first time I played in front of each of my babies they cried! And I’m professionally trained too. Oh well, I thought it was funny.
