Update
Friday, Sep 1, 2006
You might of noticed that the site has been down and now several posts are missing, most notably, the one about my daughter. There was a MySQL problem, and a week’s worth of data is lost.
Our girl is still in the hospital, and we do not know what’s going on with her. Every time she seems to improve, she regresses. Greg and I are tag-teaming. I will update when I know anything.

Please don’t get discouraged. So many are praying and God is there. Our Creator, Sustainer and the Greatest Physician has Rebekah right where He wants her. Wish I could give you a hug and do your laundry and take the other kids for you.

Having spent what amounted to months in the hospital with our children, I know something of what you’re going through. And I also know that God is actively present with her and you, for your good and His glory. I am praying for you.

I will be praying for your daughter.. I am going through a tough time as well.. one of my blogging friends in HSB reminds me.. this too shall pass..
Hugs,

Update
She hasn’t eaten since Monday, but today she had a little yogurt this morning. She is still on IV fluids, of course. Her fever has been gone for several hours now, but she is still lethargic. (We thought her fever broke yesterday, but then it went up to 104 and she started vomiting, so…?)
Her 24-hour blood culture did not show anything, but a 48-hour one should be more helpful (as 97% of bacteria types show up by then).
The good news is that her white cell count–while still out of range– is decreasing.
She prefers her dad, so Greg is staying the day as well as last night. If you happen to visit us anytime soon, though, please don’t wear scrubs! She doesn’t like nurses anymore.

Oh, Amy, I’m still praying, too. I know it’s hard to see a usually energetic little one just laying there. I’m glad she’s a tiny bit better and I wish I could bring your family a meal or mop your kitchen!
Blessings to you…

I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to not have a definite diagnosis on what is causing this. Praise the Lord she seems to be improving! We’re still standing with you in spirit…

I’m standing with all these in prayer for sweet Rebekah. Praying that the Lord will give clear direction to the doctors, that the problem will be quickly resolved and Rebekah will be her spunky self in no time leaving you with only a gray hair or two to show for it!
In Him,
Angie in AL
