#5 turns one

All our babies cry at their birthdays. Here’s proof of our #4’s tears. The pictures above are of #5 grabbing the candle. #2 grabbed the candle, too. Am I mother-of-the-year or what?
Doesn’t it seem like just a little while ago that we were anticipating his arrival? My husband found out on my blog. That is my all-time favorite post.
I’ll get back to usual business later. Just wanted to share.

Of course, it seems my all-time favorite post is broken!
Don’t bother following the link too soon, but I’ll see if I can’t fix it tomorrow.

Beautiful! I love the power point to your hubby. How special! I made a neat one for Stu for Father’s Day last year. He watches it often to lift his spirit. Happy Birthday to your sweet little boy!

Aww!!! Cute pictures. I nearly cried watching the power point presentation.
BTW, our #3 grabbed the candle so I guess that makes me runner up to MOTY. LOL.

Congrats, little Charles!
Amy, he is adorable.

He is so precious! Look at all that hair! It does seem like just the other day we were both expecting. That was fun, actually, we should be pregnant together again (you’ll have to catch up though ).
Jack just did the same thing (grabbed the candle and cried) at his party in January, so I’m glad to have company in the MOTY category:)

Maybe for your next first birthday celebration ;-), teach them “This Little Light of Mine” and hold their hands in front of them. We practiced this for a few weeks before my twins’ birthday and we avoided the burn. They knew to blow, too. We practiced with a lit candle as their birthday got closer so they’d not be quite so mesmerized with FIRE. I know it’s no big deal, I have no idea why I spent so much time on it. It’s sort of a rite of passage in my family. When it gets close to the birthday, you spent time training them how to handle the cake. Because it’s all about the cake…

Gee, those two kids look sooooo different. Are you sure they are both yours? Just kidding. One looks like Greg, one like you, I guess.
Happy birthday to Amy and to baby #5…….

I haven’t had time to look into fixing that post, but I’m glad you enjoyed it without the full effect.
Charles’ hair is sticking up because he put his soup bowl on is head during dinner. We quick-washed and towel dried his hair. It’s not normally that electric!

OH! I remember when you hubby found out!!! I thought it was so beautiful and wonderful………..I guess I have been reading for awhile, huh? Seems like that just happened!
Happy Birthday, Amy!!

My son also grabbed the candle on his first birthday - we even caught it on video! (including the horrified faces of our party guests!) As for crying on birthdays - well, I sometimes still do!
I hope you don’t mind, I recently started a blog of my own and am going to add you to my blogroll if that’s ok.

Okay, I was already missing the baby days - this is too cute. He is precious.
And thanks for the link, Amy. I don’t comment enough, but I have appreciated all you share here for almost a year now. What a joy to watch your little ones grow!
