Atlas 5 launch a success

The annoying part about being married to a rocket scientist is that I will never win a chess game or hold a map in a way that he doesn’t laugh at me. Other than that, it’s all good. Congratulations on another good launch, Greg.

You know Amy, everytime I say to my kids “this isn’t rocket science!” I think of you. Weird how these cyber friendships work, eh?

What a truly awesome picture. I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. Seriously, I wrote to NASA and everything. What stopped me, you asked? High School calculus. Hmmm…maybe I don’t have the knack for certain required areas of space travel. Tell your husband I think his job is very cool (even if he is only a rocket scientist, not an astronaut:) ).

Yes. Congratulations, Greg.
Now, about that blog you were going to write at…???

On the up side you do get to say “my husband is a rocket scientist.” Now that’s prtty cool:)

Hi, Amy,
As you can see, I’ve been wondering about this for some time. So, what town do you live in? My dad works for Boeing, he is an electrical engineer, but he does shuttles, not rockets.
God bless.
Ever since I found your blog, I have been reading it, and wondering exactly in what part of Florida you live in! You must live fairly close to KSC, if you live in Central Florida, and your husband is a rocket scientist.

You da man, Greg.
Loved the post above this one, too, Amy. We are much the same in this area.
Is that a bunk bed that you and Greg sleep in?
(If that is too personal of a question…just ignore it.)
(Giggle.)

And that was NOT anonymous. That was me.

How cool for your kids to be able to say to their friends, “Yeah, my Dad’s a rocket scientist.”
A rocket scientist that digs out flower beds, no less.

Merritt Island.
Rumor has it that he gave up!
So many of these “cyber-friendships” have turned into real life ones. I hope that happens to us one day, Lindsey!

Congratulations.
Will your husband be at the Space Conference in Arizona latter this month?

Oops!
Too funny! I had the BEST laugh in a long time over this…
I had the greatest mental picture of you and Greg sharing bunks.
Of COURSE Greg hand made your furniture…I would expect nothing less of a quality man who cherishes his bride! (That’s to make up for the “bunk” comment!)
Lastly, Amy…when I was a teen I spent parts of two summers on Merrit Island. I went to Kenya and the Dominican Republic with Teen Missions International - so attended “Boot Camp” there. Wow. You have lots of mosquitoes….
Comment by Holly (March 10, 2007 @ 8:17 am )
Holly,
It’s a single up and full down - that way, when she’s mad at me, I can just go up top instead of sharing the crate with the dog.
You do realize that Teen Missions is located in a swamp. Of course, pretty much all of our county is a swamp, hence the original name: Mosquito County. We trade mosquitoes for beautiful fall/winter/spring weather like what we had today – ‘bout 80F and clear blue skies.
So, what’s it like where you are?
Comment by Greg (March 10, 2007 @ 10:43 pm )
That’s what I surmised, Greg…Hopefully there are guard rails so you don’t fall off in your sleep.
Actually, it is gorgeous here, too! Sunny, Light coat weather, with enough sticky snow to still make a snow man!
(Can’t make me envious, neener, neener, neener. But I’ll admit to some mighty inner contortions to bring the envy under control…)

WOW! I, too, wanted to be an astronaut! Poor vision held me back
We just finished our space unit in my preK class. Everyone LOVED the subject. Our new catch phrase is “There is no sound in outer space!” Now I can tell the children that I ‘know’ a rocket scientist
BTW, what’s up with Pluto these days?

Amy–when I read your profile, I thought you were kidding about the part where it says you are married to a rocket scientist! I just thought you were complimenting him or something! Now I see that he really IS a rocket scientist! How neat!

Greg says that it’s still out there.
(He’s such a jokester.) Oh, you mean the Probe? It’s past Jupiter and has 8.5 years to go!
No, sorry we will miss you.
