Jamie, I wasn't alone; my other ones are little. :) That's too bad that we didn't get a chance to meet.

Kathy, You're right; I don't use the term "vacation" any more.

Jamie - I remember you. Thanks for sharing your schedule. I really had no idea where I was going since I had only been at Bonclarken for a total of about 5 minutes. You should have said "Hi" - I'm always glad to be known as Amy's husband!

Everyone else (well, and Jamie too) - Amy asked me to appologize for not getting back to the story line as things have been busy around here the last couple of days ... I can't wait to see how it turns out either!

Your comment about Greg being a former youth pastor really clicked with me! Talk about being flexible!

Good thing you have him to balance you out. God is neat that way.

And I wish you could have come up our way in NC.....oh well.

You are brave for leaving home at all!

Amy, this is really weird, especialy since you probably don't know me as I don't think I've ever posted even though I've been reading off and on for a couple of years (fellow MOMYS). I saw your dh at the ARP synod! I was signing up my older boys for camp synod and the gentleman next to me needed to see a schedule (which I had but the official worker didn't) so I let him look at mine. I noticed his name tag said Greg Scott. I immediately thought it might be your dh, but I didn't know you were ARP. I couldn't (quickly) think of a good way to say "Hey, is your wife's name Amy and does she have a blog?" :-) I wish I had known you were hanging out all alone- we could have hung out together. We had a really nice time (this year and last). Maybe there's hope for you next year??

Early on I learned the difference between a "vacation" and a "trip". You are definitly on a trip! Vacation will happen some day, but probably not until the kids are out of the house...or can paddle a canoe on their own! Hang in there.

hee hee ... we make a point of not looking too hard for any posted rule signs. Because if we read it and know it - then we obey it. I was so disappointed the day my boys and I were walking down a forest road and a ranger drove by and told us that they don't allow sling shots in there anymore. Isn't that pathetic? And now we know, so now we feel compelled to obey it, even though we know full well that the intent of the law had to do with unruly children, not my 8yo under adult supervision who was shooting a soda can far from other people.

The worst rules to us are the ones that are not made to be followed, rather they are only made to absolve the rulemakers of any lawsuit possibilities. And we still feel we must obey them, because it is posted as a rule.

brooke - highly anticipating the next installment!
