Grrrr....reminds me of when I was living in the dorms at college and a smoke alarm kept chirping in a (locked) unoccupied room down the hall. I think it took campus services two days to fix the thing, during which time I constantly blasted my huge box fan on high and slept with earplugs in and a pillow over my head. That helped. A little.

Valerie,

Our friends (who are still our friends) offered to watch the dog while we traveled to Kentucky. In an amazing twist of my good fortune, they loved him and offered to keep him forever. They have a male German Shephard, and the two got along splendidly.

Trust me. I worked it. "Oh, kids, poor Knox needs a buddy..." They had a revolt. The dog is still here with us, but I'm still working other angles which is different from bribery. I'm not sure how, but it is.

On the bright side, if he makes it to the farm, we won't have to worry about the guinea fowl anymore. On the downside, he'll scare to death any laying hens...

Amy, I think I would consider "accidentally" leaving the dog in Florida when you move.
