The drive to our farm
Tuesday, May 6, 2008
I flew into Nashville last Friday and drove on up to the farm. The house is almost finished, and it was time to check on the progress. I’ll put the inside pictures up next. The pictures below were taken on our street. It sure is purty. (That’s about all the accent I can muster.) I know that heaven must be wonderful, and I think that our little spot here is a foretaste.
This church building is vacant. It’s just down the road from us. You can’t see the river along the driveway, but it doesn’t get any better than this. I hope the little community church is revitalized one day. It’s gorgeous.

This is the top of our hill.

This is another farm on the way to our place.

Hi Amy!
What beautiful countryside!! You guys will fit into your new location just fine once you start saying road instead of street : )
Take Care,

Amy, you’ve got to let me know where around Nashville you are moving to. I live in Franklin out in the country right outside of Nashville and have six little ones nine and under! I know you don’t know me at all (I think I probably found your blog through MOMYS), but it sure is exciting for me to maybe have a momys friend nearby :o)

Hey, I think you might need a good pastor to revitalize that little country church. I know of one, don’t forget to think about him if that day comes! ;o)
We’ll rent from you if he gets to pastor. I promise we’d be a good risk. :o)

Amy,
It looks beautiful and peaceful - So happy for you & your family. I agree with Trixie though, that is definitely a road, not a street.

What a gorgeous place!!

Noted on the street/road. Also, it should be a big “crick”, not a little river.
Two of my neighbors are Floridian transplants. I talked several hours with one couple, and we’re excited about all the help offered to help us navigate the change.

Green must be God’s favorite color. No scripture to back that up…

Darn it.
Lisa beat me to it.
I was going to say when are you building the little rental cottage for our family on that gorgeous piece of land?
So….?

I was thinking today that there are shades of green that almost make your heart ache for the beauty of it. (We have grass growing for the first time in six years on our dirt patch of a back yard.) God, indeed, must love green.
It’s beautiful, Amy.

I love the hills! I live in Northern middle TN (macon county) and I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. I have never lived anywere else, but when you turn your kids loose to play and not worry about trafic or neighbors it is a wonderful felling. I love living on our farm.
enjoy

Wow, I’m homesick. I grew up in IN, but my parents were Kentuckians from Paint Lick (don’t even know if that’s on the map!) and Monticello and I spent some of the best times of my life there. I, too, think it must be pretty close to Heaven, Amy.
