Thanks Amy!
My dad is a pine plantation farmer. He might be disappointed to know that I didn't recognize pine. :) Your floors look beautiful!

Amy, can Catholics come visit you out there in that lovely house?

Of course! But I didn't know you were Catholic after all this time, Mrs. P?!

Amy, can Catholics come visit you out there in that lovely house? I promise to earn my keep I'll sit in the front window and you can charge your neighbours for the chance to gawk and point. (Surely I'd pass for "exotic" out there? I'm Irish, too, so I talk funny.) Sound good? I know we're both sensible businesswomen.

Wow! Your home looks great! What kind of wood did you use on the floors? We have a room in our home that looks like the same shade of blue that you chose. It is such a peaceful color (even with 5 boys)and feels a tiny bit "beachy" in the summertime when I drag out the seashells for display. Bet you have a few of those. :)

Your new home is beautiful. We lived in KY while my husband was in seminary at Southern Seminary in Louisville. We lived in the country as well, and just fell in love with the hills and all the old homes. Your drive photos brought back a lot of memories.

One funny thing- the KY locals told us to get ready for the humidity during the summer. We were originally from Florida as well, and they told us KY humidity was MUCH worse than Florida humidity. Now we live in NC (another seminary move) and the locals here tell us the humidity is the worse anywhere. Of course, when we lived in Florida, we were convinced we had the worse weather in the country. Congrats on getting one step further!

Beautiful floors! I love the light colored wood with the cool color on the walls, even if it is just the primer. I'm with you on the allergies and carpeting thing. I wish I could afford and could talk DH into hardwood throughout our house.

Did it just take your breath away when you stepped inside?

Yes, but it was the paint fumes I think. Seriously, yes, it's nice and we're thankful for it.

And, what color is that? Blue? Lavender? Primer gray? If it's just the primer, what is the final color going to be?

The final color is a blue gray, very close to what is on there now. Primer is 75% of the final color. Not sure what that means, but something the painter said...

Also, was the plumbing functional this time?

The basement bathroom was functional, but the other plumbing is on a new septic which is torn up all over the yard right now. So, I had to use two flights of stairs in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, but I'm not pregnant, so I am not complaining.
